33rd Street
For this unique and comfortable modern family beach home, we looked to contemporary design, a casual coastal vibe, and subtly Asian flare. The center courtyard, fashioned into a Japanese-inspired rock garden of sorts, serves as the nucleus of the home. Exotic finishes were chosen to nod to the space’s Balinese inspiration—zebrawood in the kitchen, Rosso Laguna red marble, plenty of teak, touches of monkeypod wood, and pebble as well as mosaic accents. Texture, both in touch and appearance, complement antique pieces such as Chinese cabinetry and window panels to shroud the television. These serve as a balanced counterpoint to clean lined, elegant furniture. The interiors complement the architectural design to create a harmonious, warm, inviting, and sophisticated living space.
