Situated on a narrow 30’ x 90’ lot just steps from the beach, we wanted the style of this Manhattan Beach home to be a sophisticated mix of modernism and casual chic, simple and lush. An abundance of indoor/outdoor spaces compensate for the lack of backyard space—Just off of the dining room is an enclosed deck furnished with a Balinese daybed, Thai rain drum, and hot tub. Warm, homey interiors (the floors and all of the millwork is teak wood) serve as the perfect canvas for showing off unique artifacts and objects collected over the course of years of travel. Tortoise shell, sky blue Venetian plaster, and plenty of verdant plant life were chosen to inject a breezy tropical mood into the upscale family residence.
